I am an experienced HR professional, working in HR since graduating from an unrelated degree in Accountancy.
My own career followed a typical career path from HR Assistant to HR Officer, HR Advisor, HR Manager, Head of Employee Relations and HR Project Manager. Now I run my own HR Consultancy and support others to be successful in building their HR career.
I spent 10 years in HR Shared Services, recruiting for and managing my own HR teams, including HR Assistants, HR Advisors, Team Leaders and HR Managers. I've seen thousands of HR CVs, interviewed hundreds of candidates and I bring you the benefit of that experience through the HR Career Hub.

I understand the challenges that you face in getting into HR and progressing your career.
In 2005 I started my Accountancy degree. Quite soon into my degree I realised that Accounting really wasn't for me, and I set my sights on HR.
After graduating I set about finding any HR job. I was asked in every interview "why have you decided HR is for you?" It's a common problem with career changes, how do you make the move credible and show you really are serious about HR?
I completed my CIPD Level 3 whilst working full time and then was made redundant. During my next position I started my CIPD Level 7 and then got made redundant again! I had to then find a new job that would give me time to go to college half a day a week which was almost as challenging as actually studying whilst working! I'm sure you'll agree, Mondays working from 7.45am and studying at college until 7.30pm is NOT a good start to the week!
I've continued to progress my career since having children and working part time. I've changed my working pattern multiple times whilst taking on more Senior roles and balance childcare and school runs. I even upgraded to Chartered Member of the CIPD whilst on my second maternity leave.
On my third maternity leave I set up my own HR Consultancy to live my dream, working with who I want and when.
All of these things are difficult to navigate but I have. It really is possible. Through the HR Career Hub I can show you how to succeed too. The biggest obstacle in your way, is you.
